Ministries

Steward Board: The Steward Board’s mission is to attend to the spiritual needs of the church. They assist the Pastor and ministerial staff in carrying out the church program that foster and increase spiritual maturity in the body. . The Stewards are nominated by the Pastor and confirmed by the Quarterly Conference. The members serve for one year but they may be re-nominated annually. The Pastor is the chair person of the Steward Board but Pastor can appoint a pro-tem to act in the absence of the Pastor. Each Steward is responsible for overseeing at least one Ministry within the church. (Luke 12:42-44)

Trustee Board: The Trustee Board’s mission is to support and enhance the worship experience of our members and guests by ensuring that the facilities of the church continue to reflect the humility, the splendor, the grace and the Omnipotent Spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Board members will provide leadership necessary to maintain and improve the physical facilities of the church for the benefit of members, guests and the surrounding communities. Trustee Board members will honor the trust bestowed upon them by conducting all business on behalf of the church in a fair, honest and prudent manner. The Trustee Board Members will cheerfully work both individually and collectively providing their time, talent and resources on an “as needed” basis in the pursuit of maintaining a church ambience conducive of spiritual worship and brotherly/sisterly fellowship. (Psalm 127:1)

Music Ministry: The mission of the Music Ministry is to minister the Word of God through song. The Music Ministry seeks to glorify God by winning souls for Christ, and to console comfort and uplift the Name of Jesus. There are currently three choirs that minister each Sunday and a mass choir that sings on the 5th Sunday. They are:

Adult male and female – 1st & 3nd Sunday

Men’s Choir – 2th Sunday

Youth Choir  4rd Sunday

Mass Choir – 5th

All choirs worship God in a Spirit of praise and thanksgiving and provide encouragement and strength for God’s people for this present age. (Psalm 95:1-2)

Usher Board: The mission of the Usher Board is to welcome and greet all who come to the Lord's house with open arms and a warm smile and to ensure everyone is comfortable. Ushers serve as doorkeepers and are the first person(s) to greet members, guests, clergy and visitors when coming into the sanctuary. The primary responsibilities of an Usher include escorting the congregation to open seats, distributing church bulletins, overseeing and directing congregations during the offering/giving time. Ushers also serve as doorkeepers during other times such as special programs, weddings and funerals. Members of the Usher Board serve on rotating Sundays based upon a preset schedule. (Psalm 84:10)    

Men’s Ministry: The mission of the Men’s Ministry is: The evangelism and discipleship of men through the preaching, teaching and studying of God’s word. To provide regular forums for fellowship with an emphasis on open and honest discussions of issues relative to men and the roles of men in the home, the church, the workplace and the community. (Proverbs 17:17; 1 Timothy 4:12)

 

Women’s Ministry: The mission of the Women’s Ministry is to provide a forum where women can mature spiritually and can fellowship with others in the local church. In the monthly “women’s” bible studies, women are encouraged to accept their responsibility as women of God who will offer themselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God; and to be devoted to one another in love and to serve God and the church. Women’s ministry also encourages sisters to be committed to teaching the younger women. (Romans 12:1, 10-13; Titus 2:4).

Evangelism & Outreach Ministry: (Matthew 25:35-40) Our House – The mission of this outreach ministry is to provide spiritual guidance through prayer, bible study and counseling to at-risk adolescent males ages 16-21 who are residents in a highly supervised and structured learning environment whereby they are given hands-on construction training and evening academic classes and GED/Preparation and independent living skills. Residents attend our regular and special worship services and we provide bible study on a bi-monthly basis.

Nursing Home Ministry: The mission of this ministry to provide encouragement and support to individuals who are shut-in at a nursing home. The Ministry provides a full worship service with prayer, preaching and music ministry on a bi-monthly basis.

Stewardship and Finance Commission: The mission of the Finance Commission is to promote and foster Christian stewardship and to ensure the financial well-being of the church. The Commission supervises the collection of offerings at all services. The responsibilities of the Commission include, but are not limited to the following: establishing an annual budget, handling record keeping for all income and expenditures, provide annual year end giving statements and depositing funds into the bank in a timely manner. (Malachi 3:10).
